Sembcorp UK is owned by Sembcorp Industries Limited, which provides centralized utilities, energy and water to industrial and other customers in Singapore, the UK, Asia and the Middle East.

Sembcorp Industries is also a global leader in marine and offshore engineering and provides environmental and industrial park management services in the Singapore region.

With total assets of over S$ 8.7 billion and more than 6,700 employees, Sembcorp Industries is listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange and is a component stock of the Straits Times Index and several Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) indices.

Sembcorp Industries acquired the UK operation in 2003 and the business has grown ever since. It is now one of the largest privately-owned industrial utilities and services providers in the UK and is looking to expand its business into Europe as it moves forward. The recent ‘wood to energy’ biomass initiative was a first for the UK and has paved the way for the development of other similar biomass power stations in other parts of the UK.
