The utilities and services company has received accreditation from the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) to deliver the Managing Safely course. The fiveday course is aimed at giving supervisors and other first line managers an insight into effective health and safety management and strategies for reducing workplace injuries and accidents.

IOSH is Europe’s leading body representing safety and health professionals and has a remit to maintain standards and provide impartial authoritative guidance on health and safety issues.

And with safety legislation getting ever tighter for organisations of all sizes, Sembcorp - which employs 600 people and has a world class safety record for a utilities and services business - sees a growing market for its training services.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this accreditation,” said Sembcorp Utilities UK Safety Manager, Adrian Parker, whose team has already run two successful courses since receiving the accreditation.

He added: “This is a new departure for us and we can tailor the course to match the specific needs of a customers.

“We believe that having worked for years in an industrial environment, embracing everything from offices, stores and laboratories to large scale manufacturing facilities, we have a knowledge and experience that others who run similar courses just don’t have.”

The courses can be run at Wilton or at a customer’s own premises. Anyone wanting to know more should ring 01642-212000 or e-mail anthony.smith@sembcorp.co.uk
