Andy Scoops A Top Honour At National Call Centre Awards
OC5 employee Andy Petford has lifted one of the top honours at a major national call centre awards ceremony.
Andy, 39, Training Officer at the Wilton-based company, won the Call Centre Support Manager of the Year title at the Call Centre Management Association (CCMA) dinner at the Langham Hotel in London’s West End.
In doing so he beat off the challenge of hundreds of people carrying out a variety of support roles at call centres throughout the UK.
OC5 is owned by the Wilton-based utilities and services company, Sembcorp Utilities UK. Comparatively small by call centre standards with 160 employees, it deals with commercial customers of the UK’s largest gas supplier, British Gas Business.
Andy’s success at the CCMA – the industry body which aims to promote professionalism and excellence throughout the industry - is the third time OC5 has won the award. Mark Willett, who now works in IT at Sembcorp, picked up the same title in 2003 and 2004.
Andy, of Broxa Close, Redcar, said: “I am absolutely delighted and thrilled to have won this prestigious award.
“It’s a great honour for me personally, but also for my colleagues at OC5 who work extremely hard on behalf of our customers.”

Ms Stagg said: “Andy is a worthy winner and someone who leads by example - actively developing his own knowledge and abilities as well as those of his colleagues at OC5.”
Two other OC5 employees featured in the awards with husband and wife team Lisa and Andy Clarke finishing as runners up in the Call Centre Manager of the Year and Team Manager of the Year categories respectively.
